Volunteering is an exciting and fun way to give back to your local running community. A fully staffed "Race Crew" is critical to the success of each and every race, whether there are 15,000 participants or 50. M3S has a need for Race Crew members in our upcoming schedule. Please consider coming to one of our events!

Volunteering at one of our races earns you a complimentary entry into a future M3S Sports race (see terms below) along with one of our new Race Crew shirts! Donations are available for groups, clubs and organizations based on the number of volunteers you are able to provide. More volunteers = more $/person.

M3S Sports Race Crew Comp Race Program:

  • Volunteers will receive a NEW M3S Sports Race Crew shirt
  • All volunteers receive Race Crew shirt and a complimentary race entry into a future M3S Sports event
  • Volunteers must complete 4-hour minimum shift (must complete full shift to be eligible for comp entry)
  • Complimentary race must occur after volunteer shift has been worked
  • Comp code will be emailed one week after the volunteer shift and may be used to register for an upcoming M3S Sports race
  • Comp code is NOT VALID for Cap City VIP unless you pay difference out of pocket
  • Misuse of comp code will prohibit you from future volunteer opportunities with M3S Sports
  • Donations will be made to the group, club or organization based on the number of volunteers provided

If interested, please contact us so we can find the best role for your group and move toward putting another race in the books! Include the type of role you are interested in and an estimated number of volunteers in your group.

  1. As a volunteer, you are an Ambassador for M3S Sports and should treat athletes, guests, participants, other volunteers with the utmost courtesy and respect.
  2. Attire options include clean jeans, khaki or athletic pants and comfortable shoes. We will provide volunteer shirts for your shifts.
  3. Be prepared to answer many types of questions. Familiarize yourself with the race prior to your shift. You will get more instruction upon arrival.

  5. Up until 5 days prior to your scheduled shift, you are able to change/cancel your day/assignment. Please contact us in order to do so.
  6. If it is the day of your scheduled shift and you find you cannot make it, please be considerate and contact us so we can adjust our roster.

  12. Pets are not allowed with you during your volunteer shift.
  13. Depending on race needs, volunteer assignments may be reallocated — please be flexible.
  14. M3S Sports reserves the right to search any bags for security reasons.

Race Crew Captain
With so many volunteers and so many roles/responsibilities, it is hard for one person to manage. If you are a take-charge individual, love being part a project from start to finish, and want to earn some $ to put towards a cause or organization you care about this is the role for you! Duties include working closely with staff, communicating to your assigned group, ensuring all information is dispersed in a timely manner, ensuring all members of your group show up at their assigned time/location. Strong attention to detail, problem solving and customer service are required.

Aid Station
Great role for Groups! This key role is not just about providing hydration support — but moral support and excitement! As runners travel the course, they may get fatigued; but with your smiling face and cheering attitude, you will revive them! Duties include setting up the station, filling and stacking cups with water and Gatorade, restocking cups throughout the course of the morning, handing beverages to runners as they come by, and finally cleaning up the area when the last runner passes. Getting wet and standing for long periods is required for this role.
